RIVER GROVE, Ill. – The Harper College wrestling team took second place at the Midwest District Championship on Sunday and qualified nine wrestlers for the 2015 NJCAA Wrestling Championship.
The Hawks scored 92 points in the meet and finished behind first place Muskegon College (106 points). Lincoln College (48 points) and Triton College (47.5 points) to third and fourth place, respectively.
Here are the nine wrestlers who qualified for nationals:
-Jacob Bellis (/Bloomington)-First Place, 125 Pounds
-Dusan Bogicevic (/Larkin)-Second Place, 133 Pounds
-Kerin Ramirez (/Addison Trail)-Third Place, 141 Pounds, Wild Card
-Sean Dulom (/Sarasota)-First Place, 149 Pounds
-Blake Tisza (/Thornton Fractional South)-First Place, 157 Pounds
-Greg Jacquez (/West Aurora)-First Place, 165 Pounds
-Jonathan Denikas (/Antioch)-Third Place, 174 Pounds, Wild Card
-Chance Shea (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest)-Second Place, 184 Pounds
-Donte Winfield (/Perry Meridian )-First Place, 285 Pounds
These nine Hawks wrestlers will compete at the 2015 NJCAA Wrestling Championship held Feb. 27-28 at the Jacobson Exhibition Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
