Box Score ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Harper College women's basketball team had a tough time putting the ball in the basket in the first 20 minutes of play on Saturday afternoon at Rock Valley College. The Hawks (4-18, 0-7 N4C) dug themselves into a 35-12 hole by halftime, and the Golden Eagles (17-6, 6-1 N4C) went on to a 71-41 victory.
Harper got nearly 70 percent of its points from the bench as Tamara Zivak (/Barrington) had a game-high 17 points (7-of-11 shooting), nine rebounds, and three blocks in 28 minutes. Kim Herzog (/Buffalo Grove) added 11 points and two steals in 27 minutes. The Hawks shot 34.9 percent (15-of-43) as a team.
Rock Valley had 14 players see the court, and no player played more than 19 minutes. Top scorer Brianna Davis led the way with 13 points, and Paige Wogen (11 points) and Jaycee Cleaver (10 points) also scored in double figures. The Golden Eagles' big edge came on the glass, as they outrebounded Harper 50-22, including 28 offensive boards. They shot 35.9 percent (28-of-78) as a team.
The Hawks will travel to Triton College (16-8, 4-3 N4C) for a matchup with the Trojans on Wednesday night at 5 PM.
