Palatine,Ill- The Harper College men's basketball team dropped a lopsided 99-70 decision to Moraine Valley Community College on Thursday night. The Hawks could not summon the same magic they used to turn an 11 point deficit into an 11 point win against the Cyclones in their first matchup just weeks ago.

Moraine Valley jumped out to a quick ten point lead just six minutes into the game and lead by 26 at the half. Doomed by 22 turnovers, the Hawks never cut their deficit to less than 16 in the second half before ultimately dropping the contest by 29.

Despite the loss, Marcus Dover (/Schaumburg) had a strong performance for Harper tallying his first double-double of the season (13 points, 11 rebounds). Luke Ledesma (/Wheaton Academy) and Joey Gatziolis added 12 points apiece for the Hawks. Ledesma connected on four threes in the contest.

Next up for Harper is a home matchup with College of Lake County on Dec 20 at 7PM. The Hawks and Lancers faced off already in November. It was a tight overtime game, but Harper dropped the contest 88-85.
