JOLIET, Ill. – At the college basketball level, each possession is important for a team. On Saturday night, the Harper College women's basketball team struggled in the turnover department. The Hawks committed 31 costly turnovers and lost 57-33 to host Joliet Junior College.

Harper (4-21, 0-10 N4C) was impacted in a big way by the turnovers. The Hawks managed only 38 shot attempts in the entire game, knocking down just 12 of them to shot 31.6 percent. Harper converted 8-of-11 from the foul line and trailed 28-16 at halftime.

While the Wolves (14-11, 5-5 N4C) did not shoot much better (33.8 percent), they were able to attempt 68 shots, making 23 of them. The home team also held a 35-27 advantage in rebounding and grabbed 21 offensive boards.  Hillary Dietahin ripped down 16 rebounds on her own

Tamara Zivak (Barrington, Ill. /Barrington) was the lone Hawk to score in double figures. The freshman netted 11 points and seven rebounds.  For Joliet, standout guard Jamari McAfee scored a season-high 22 points in the win.

The Hawks will play their final two regular season games this week. On Wednesday night, they host Milwaukee Area Technical College (14-12, 6-4 N4C). Wednesday is Sophomore Night for Harper College, as the program will honor its seven sophomores prior to the start of the game. Harper wraps up its regular season schedule with a trip to No. 1 Madison College on Saturday, Feb. 20. Tipoff is slated for 1 PM in the H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium in Madison, Wisconsin.
