PALATINE, IL-Â The #1 ranked Harper College volleyball team hosted DII Triton Trojans at Robert Morris University on Thursday and ended the day with a 3-set sweep.
Harper got things started quickly after
Emily Huprich (/Elgin)'s strong serving had the Hawks up 9-1. Harper would remain in control the rest of the way, taking the set 25-10.   The second set began just as well for the Hawks, as they found themselves ahead 4-0 before Angelina Nichol's pinpoint serving brought the score to 14-1. Once again, Harper would not let up and took set two 25-8.
Set three had a little bit of a different feel to it as the Hawks were tied 2-2 and then fell behind 2-3 for their first deficit in the match. Harper would bounce back to take a 7-3 lead but the Trojans would not give up and tied the set at 8 apiece. The Hawks would then pull away for a 17-12 lead but again, the Trojans came back and tied the set at 21. Triton would once again take a 2 point lead at 21-23 before a
Nikki Alm (/Larkin) kill brought the Hawks back within one. Harper would not let the Trojans score the rest of the way and took the third set 25-23, ending the match in three sets.
Ellie Burzlaff (/Harvest Christian) kept up her hot hitting and led the Hawks with 14 kills on 25 attempts.Â
Lydia Schiller (/Hoffman Estates) was second on the team with 5 while
