Box Score PALATINE, IL-  The Harper College men's basketball team traveled to DIII Elmhurst College on Sunday and finished with an 86-84 win over the BlueJays' junior varsity team.

The game was close throughout the first half, but the Hawks headed into halftime with a 43-39 lead.  Jesse Young lead the way at half with 14 points while Joe Gatziolis had 10 and Corin Daniel chipped in 8.  Harper took care of the ball with only 5 turnovers in the first half.

The second half saw more of the same as both teams traded leads throughout.  However, Young would take the game into his own hands as he put up 21 points in the half but none more important than his last 2.  With time winding down in regulation with the score 84-84, Young drove into the lane and dropped a floater as the buzzer sounded to give the Hawks an 86-84 victory.

The Hawks (2-7) take on Morton College in Cicero on Thursday.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
