Box Score PALATINE, IL- Â The Harper College men's basketball team looked to end their three game losing streak against the College of Lake County Lancers on Saturday, but fell short by a score of 97-71.
Two days after shooting a season low 39% from the field, the Hawks bounced back with 31 points in the first half but CLC was just as hot from the field and went into the break with the Hawks trailing by a score of 43-31. Â Just as they did against North Central, Harper came alive in the second, putting up another 40 point half, but the Lancers would remain scorching from the field and put up 54 of their own. Â At the final buzzer, the Hawks fell to the Lancers 97-71.
The Hawks were hitting their shots (48% FG, 50% 3PT) but CLC was able to answer back with an incredible 56% performance from the field.  Harper was not able to move the ball as well as the Lancers, only totaling 7 assists to CLC's 21, and they were narrowly edged out in turnovers 17-16.  Freshman
Jesse Young finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds, giving him his third straight 20+ points and 10+ rebound performance. Â Young was the only Hawk player to finish with double-digit points and/or rebounds.
In the midst of a four-game losing streak, the Hawks fell to 2-11 on the year. Â This weekend, the Hawks will take on St. Louis Community College on Saturday for a 5pm tip-off.
