River Grove, IL:  Harper College won tonight, and is now 10-0 in N4C conference, and has mathematically clinched 1^st place!

Harper College defeated Triton College in 3 sets, 25-12, 25-12, and 25-21.

In the first set, Harper took a 5-0 lead behind Taylor Pfaller's (/St. Viator) serves.  Triton called time out, and next thing you know, Harper looked up at a 5-5 tie;  then another tie at 6-6.  At that point, Harper took another 5-point lead at 12-7;  Triton called another time out, but this time Harper extended the lead to 10 points at 18-8; and then won 25-12.  Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) had 9 assists.  Rachel Kandefer (/Elk Grove H.S.) had 3 kills and 2 blocks.  Ashley Rothenberg (/Streamwood H.S.) 3 kills on 4 attacks.  Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) was 7-8 serving with an ace. Rachel Kandefer (/Elk Grove H.S.) was 6-6 serving with an ace.  Jules Carusiello (/Hersey H.S.) had 5 digs.  Ashley Rothenberg (/Streamwood H.S.) and Amelia Reiter (/Crystal Lake South H.S.) had 4 digs each. 

In the second set, Harper took a 13-1 lead behind the 1-2 serving punch of Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) and Amelia Reiter (/Crystal Lake South H.S.).  Harper extended to 22-6, and 24-8… and Harper won 25-12.  Rugile Jaciunas (/Wheeling H.S.) had 3 kills on 4 swings.  Amelia Reiter (/Crystal Lake South H.S.) had 3 kills on 5 swings.  Natalie Asa (/Schaumburg H.S.) entered the front row for the first time since September 14, and immediately had a kill, and then 3 rejections. Ariell Davis (/Buffalo Grove H.S.) played well with 2 blocks and a kill.  Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) was 6-7 serving with an ace.  Amelia Reiter (/Crystal Lake South H.S.) was 6-7 serving with 2 aces.

In the third set, there were ties at 2-2 and 3-3.  Harper fell behind 6-11 when Harper had the wrong server.  Oops.  Triton extended their lead all the way to 6-15.  At that point, Harper called time out, and adjusted, and stormed back to 11-15, 16-18, and 18-20; and finally tied the score at 20-20, behind some clutch serving from Rugile Jaciunas (/Wheeling H.S.).  Harper went on to win 25-21.  Kathleen Alimorong (/Hoffman Estates H.S.) set and had 10 assists along with 4 digs and 2 kills.  Natalie Asa (/Schaumburg H.S.) led Harper with 5 kills in this set.  Back in, Rachel Kandefer (/Elk Grove H.S.) had added 3 kills and another block.  Ariell Davis (/Buffalo Grove H.S.) added another block and a half, an assist, and a highlight reel up of the day covering a Harper smash into the net on an overpass.  Kayla Agoranos (/Hampshire H.S.) came in to play libero and had 9 digs and was 5-5 serving with an ace.  Rugile Jaciunas (/Wheeling H.S.) playing DS was 5-5 serving with an ace.  Ashley Rothenberg (/Streamwood H.S.) was 5-5 serving with an ace.
