Harper Hawks Celebrate Academic Excellence Across Athletics

Palatine, IL: Harper College student-athletes continued to demonstrate that success extends well beyond competition during the 2025-26 academic year, earning widespread recognition for their accomplishments in the classroom at both the national and regional levels.

Across the 12 Harper athletic programs included in this year's academic recognition, Hawks earned 44 NJCAA All-Academic Team honors, including 13 First Team, 12 Second Team, and 19 Third Team selections. The NJCAA All-Academic Teams recognize student-athletes who complete at least 24 credit hours during the academic year while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.60 or higher.

Harper's baseball program led the way with nine NJCAA All-Academic selections, including five First Team, one Second Team, and three Third Team honorees. Men's soccer followed with four selections, while men's wrestling, women's basketball, women's soccer, softball, women's volleyball, and men's and women's cross country and track and field also produced multiple national academic honorees.

The Hawks' academic success was equally evident at the regional level. Harper student-athletes combined for 94 Fall Region 4 All-Academic selections and 80 Spring Region 4 All-Academic selections. Region 4 All-Academic recognition is awarded to student-athletes who successfully complete at least 12 credit hours during a semester while maintaining a GPA of 3.00 or higher.

Baseball again led Harper with 18 Fall and 19 Spring Region 4 All-Academic selections. Men's soccer (13 fall, 11 spring), men's wrestling (13 fall, six spring), and men's cross country and track and field (14 fall, 13 spring) also produced particularly strong numbers.

Women's volleyball recorded nine Fall Region 4 All-Academic selections, while softball increased from six in the fall to 10 in the spring. Women's basketball had five selections in each semester, while women's soccer had five in the fall and four in the spring. Men's basketball recorded seven fall and five spring selections, and women's cross country and track and field added four in each semester.

The breadth of Harper's academic recognition highlights the college's commitment to developing student-athletes who strive for excellence both in competition and in the classroom. From national NJCAA honorees to semester-by-semester regional academic recognition, Hawks across the department continued to show that achievement in athletics and academics can go hand in hand.
