Glen Ellyn, IL:  Harper College defeated College of DuPage (COD) 25-13, 25-15 and 25-16, and is now 11-0 in the tough N4C Conference.  Harper is also 14-2 in the Region.

In the first set, Harper took a 7-3 lead on a Rugile Jaciunas (/Wheeling H.S.) smash.  Harper extended to 10-3 when COD called timeout.  With Kayla Agoranos (/Hampshire H.S.) serving at 12-3, COD called another timeout.  Next up, Ashley Rothenberg (/Streamwood H.S.) served Harper to a 17-4 lead… Harper continued 20-10 on the way to a 25-13 win.  Middle hitter Rugile Jaciunas (/Wheeling H.S.) led Harper with 5 kills on 6 swings.  Amelia Reiter (/Crystal Lake South H.S.) added 3 kills.  Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) had 10 assists.  Right side Kayla Agoranos (/Hampshire H.S.) had 6 digs.  Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) was 7-8 serving with an ace.

In the second set, Harper took a 6-0 lead, and extended to 11-3, 14-9, 19-13 and a 25-15 win.  Natalie Asa (/Schaumburg H.S.) entered the match and had an immediate impact with 5 kills.  Amelia Reiter (/Crystal Lake South H.S.) added 3 more kills.  Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) had 9 assists.  Amelia Reiter (/Crystal Lake South H.S.) had 6 digs.  Kathleen Alimorong (/Hoffman Estates H.S.) was 6-6 serving with 2 aces, and Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) was 7-7 serving.

In the third set, there were ties at 3-3, and 7-7.  Harper took a slim 9-7 lead, then extended to 14-9, 19-14 and a 25-16 win.  Amelia Reiter (/Crystal Lake South H.S.) had 5 more kills.  Rugile Jaciunas (/Wheeling H.S.) had another kills and 2 ½ blocks. Ashley Rothenberg (/Streamwood H.S.), playing middle, had 2 ½ blocks and a kill.  Libero Jules Carusiello (/Hersey H.S.) had 5 digs.  Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) was 8-9 serving with another ace, and 4 digs.

Next up:  Harper travels to Rock Valley Thursday, October 22, for the last conference match of the year.  Game time is 6:00 p.m.
