Harper lost set one handily, falling behind 7-13, and 8-20 before losing 10-25.  Rachel Kandefer (/Elk Grove H.S.) (Elk Grove H.S.) did have 3 kills.  Setter Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) (St. Viator) had 7 assists.  Kelsey Bauer (/Palatine H.S.) (Palatine H.S.) led Harper with 4 digs.
 
In Set 2, Harper altered the lineup, and improved but narrowly lost 22-25.  Harper started out behind 1-5, but caught up with ties at 9-9, 11-11, 14-14 and 16-16 before losing 22-25.  Setter Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) had 8 assists.  Natalie Asa (/Schaumburg H.S.) had 3 kills and a block. 
 
Down 0-2 in the match, Harper made the final lineup tweak and won 25-18.  Natalie Asa (/Schaumburg H.S.) (Schaumburg H.S.) led Harper with 4 kills.  Kathleen (Gueco) Alimorong (Hoffman Estates H.S.) came in and led Harper with 5 digs and added 3 kills.
 
Set 4 found Harper College winning a squeaker 26-24 behind a superb comeback win. Natalie Asa (/Schaumburg H.S.) strung together 5 consecutive service points, and Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) scored 5 points on her serving at the end of the match.  Kelsey Bauer (/Palatine H.S.) led Harper with 5 kills on 15 attacks and no errors.  Jules Carusiello (/Hersey H.S.) (Hersey H.S.) came alive on defense with 9 digs.  Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) added 7 more digs.  Kathleen Alimorong (/Hoffman Estates H.S.) and Natalie Asa (/Schaumburg H.S.) each had 5 digs in a very strong team defensive effort.  Coach Bob Vilsoet (Glenbrook North H.S. back in the '70's, haha) thinks Harper became inspired by a phantom antenna call. 
 
In the deciding final set, Harper just got down too far at the start, behind 2-6.  Harper continued trading points to 7-11; cut the lead to 10-12; but shanked the next point and went on to lose a close one 12-15.  Kelsey Bauer (/Palatine H.S.) and Rugile Jaciunas (/Wheeling H.S.) (Wheeling H.S.) each had 2 kills. Jules Carusiello (/Hersey H.S.) added 5 digs. Natalie Asa (/Schaumburg H.S.) had 4 digs.
