Previously, Harper College was 4-0 lifetime against Minnesota State. That changed! There's something up there in the water this year in Minnesota. Minnesota State won this match in impressive fashion winning 22-25, 14-25 and 25-27.
In the first set, Harper was tied at 10-10 and 11-11, before falling behind 18-19 and 20-23 before losing 22-25 in a close set.Â
In the second set, Harper was again tied at 10-10, 11-11 and 12-12, before losing 8 points in a row on the way to a 14-25 loss.
In the third set when Harper fought from behind at 18-23, to tie the score at 23-23 on
Taylor Pfaller's (/St. Viator) serves. Then after ties at 24-24 and 25-25, Harper was not pleased, as a phantom back-row attack call gave Minnesota State the lead at 25-26. And then Harper was blocked on match point to lose the set 27-29, and thus the match.
For the Match,
Taylor Pfaller (/St. Viator) had another double-double with 21 assists and 13 digs. Also for the match,
Kelsey Bauer (/Palatine H.S.) had 7 kills and
Ashley Rothenberg (/Streamwood H.S.) had 6 kills. On defense,
Jules Carusiello (/Hersey H.S.) had 12 digs.
