Harper College defeated by Madison 13-25, 12-25, 17-25

Madison, Wisconsin:  For Harper College, tonight's volleyball match did not go well.

Set 1… Harper fell behind instantly at 2-9.  Then fought to 6-11, but then lost 6 straight points to 6-17… then 10-20 and a 13-25 loss.  Natalia Smiech (Sleepy Hollow/Dundee-Crown H.S.) had the usual 3 kills plus 6 digs.

Set 2… Harper offered little resistance… ties at 1-1 and 3-3; then Harper was down 5-10, and 6-14 until a 12-25 loss.  Abbie Greenberg (Schaumburg/Schaumburg H.S.) was alive with 6 kills.  Jocelyn Mercado (Schaumburg/Schaumburg H.S.) had 8 digs.

Set 3…  Harper had a 5-2 lead, then 8-4.  Harper quickly lost that edge to 11-21 with poor passing before falling 17-25.  Abbie Greenberg (Schaumburg/Schaumburg H.S.) stayed hot with another 6 kills.  Stacy Maimur (Wheeling/Stevenson H.S.) had 2 kills and a block.  Natalia Smiech (Sleepy Hollow/Dundee-Crown H.S.) added another 5 digs.

Next match is at Harper College, Thursday October 6, 6:00 p.m. against Milwaukee.
