Joliet, IL: In the first set, Harper jumped out to a 5-0 lead, and extended the lead to 8-1 and 10-3. Harper maintained the lead to 16-9, and extended to 19-10 before winning 25-16.
In the second set, playing well, Harper zoomed out to an 11-2 lead. Frontier closed to 14-8, 15-9 and 16-12, but Harper went on another run to lead 23-16 on the way to a 25-20 win.
In the last set, there were a bunch of ties at 3-3, 7-7, 9-9, 10-10, before Harper took a 12-10 and 16-11 lead. Undaunted, Frontier closed the gap to 20-17 and then 20-20. More ties at 21-21, 22-22 and 23-23, before Harper won 25-23 in a squeaker.
Harper was now in the winner's bracket. Eight teams won, and 8 teams lost.

Joliet, IL: In a very exciting match, Harper took a 6-1 lead in the first set, then extended to 9-3, 15-7 and 19-13 on the way to a 25-18 win.
In the second set, Harper started out 3-9 and 6-15. Harper fought hard to get within 11-15, 15-19 and 16-20 before pulling up at 19-20 and 21-21, 22-22… Harper then took slim 24-22 and 24-23 leads before wining that last point for a close 25-23 win.
Up 2-0 in matches, Southwestern Illinois played it close at 1-1, 2-2, 4-4, 5-5, 6-6 7-7, 10-10, 11-11 and 15-15… then, at the familiar 20-20 mark Harper missed a serve… the score was tied again at 21-21, but this time Harper lost the last 4 points in a row for a 21-25 loss.
In the fourth set with Harper ahead 2-1 in matches… Harper started out 0-4, 10-16 and 14-21 on the way to a 15-25 loss. Harper never controlled anything in this set.
In the final deciding set, Harper fell way behind at 1-8. Harper fought back to 4-8, and 8-10 before tying the match at 11-11, 12-12 and 14-14 when Harper missed a crucial serve. Harper still tied the score at 15-15 and ended up winning 17-15 in a very exciting match where neither team deserved to lose.
This put Harper in the final 4 for tomorrow's last 2 matches.

Joliet, IL: Harper was playing very well, but there were ties at 1-1, 3-3, 4-4 and -6. Harper took slim leads at 10-8, 14-11, and extended to 18-12. After a key timout from Lansing, the score found itself tied at 20-20. Harper cut the gap to 21-22 on an Ava Belluomini (Mount Prospect/Resurrection H.S>) kill, then tied the score at 22-22 on a Natalia Smiech (Sleepy Hollow/Dundee-Crown H.S.) kill, and then took a slim 22-23 lead on a Katie Hofmann (Des Plaines/Elk Grove H.S.) block. Harper won the last 2 points on kills from Tell O'Gara and Natalia Smiech (Sleepy Hollow/Dundee-Crown H.S.) to win 25-23.
Harper started out well in set two with a 9-3 lead and lead 13-6 after a Katie Hofmann (Des Plaines/Elk Grove H.S.) kill. Lansing closed the gap to 13-10… but Harper extended again to 17-10 after a Tess O'Gara (Chicago/Resurrection H.S.) kill, and 20-16 on a Tess O'Gara (Chicago/Resurrection H.S.) block, on the way to a 25-22 win on Ava Belluomini's (Mount Prospect/Resurrection H.S>) kill.

Joliet, IL: Harper stayed close up to 6-7, but fell behind 12-18 on the way to a 14-25 loss.
The second set was one of those barn burners… Harper led 3-1 early, but there were ties at 12-12, 13-13, 14-14, 15-15, 16-16… 18-18… 23-23, 24-24 before Harper succumbed 24-26 in this exciting set.
In the third set, Harper fell behind early 3-7 and 4-9 on the way to a 14-25 loss, where you could say Lake Land College put the hammer down.
The story of this tournament was simple… when did the random N4C D3 team get walloped by D1 power Lake Land?
- Joliet lost to Lake Land first, which put Joliet in the losers bracket in a position to finish first in that consolation bracket (9th overall).
- Next up, N4C team Madison lost to Lake Land in the semi-final match putting Madison in a spot to take 3rd overall if they defeated Lansing.
- And Harper didn't play Lake Land until the finals to finish 2nd. Lake Land was truly unbeatable this weekend.
