Harper College lost to D3 #2 College of DuPage 20-25, 17-25, 14-25

At College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, IL September 27, 7:00 p.m.
 
In the first set, Harper College played well enough at 4-4 and 5-5, but found itself down 10-14 and 12-16 on the way to a 20-25 loss. Middle Hitter Abbie Greenberg (Schaumburg/Schaumburg H.S.) led Harper with 3 kills.  Alyssa Rodda (Inverness/Barrington H.S.) had 7 digs in this first set.  Gabby Elbrecht (Owings, MD/Northern H.S.) led Harper with 5-5 serving.
 
In the second set, Harper College didn't fare any better down 11-17, but pulled somewhat close to 16-19, then losing the next 6 of 7 points before falling 17-25.  Natalia Smiech (Sleepy Hollow/Dundee-Crown H.S.) led Harper with 5 kills.  Katie Hofmann (Des Plaines/Elk Grove H.S.) had 2 kills and 2 blocks.  Cana Jones (Walton, IN/Lewis Cass H.S.) and Alyssa Rodda (Inverness/Barrington H.S.) each had 4 digs. 
 
In the third set, Harper was never in it after 2-2… Harper fell behind 6-14 and 10-18 on the way to a 14-25 loss.  Abbie Greenberg (Schaumburg/Schaumburg H.S.), playing outside added 3 more kills. Cana Jones (Walton, IN/Lewis Cass H.S.) added another 4 digs.
 
Abbie Greenberg (Schaumburg/Schaumburg H.S.) and Natalia Smiech (Sleepy Hollow/Dundee-Crown H.S.) led Harper with 7 kills each in this match. Harper had just 3 aces in the entire match;  2 from Natalia Smiech (Sleepy Hollow/Dundee-Crown H.S.).  College of DuPage showed why they are rank the 2^nd best team in the nation!
