Women's soccer wins Big 7-1

against JJC

Box Score Joliet, IL 9/7/2022:

The Women's soccer team traveled south to play Joliet Junior College on Wednesday, and the team did not disappoint. This is big for or such a young team without a lot of college playing experience. You definitely could see vast amounts of improvement from the first match of the season to the second.

The game plan from game one was amped up for game two. Coach Lemberg felt strongly about turning up the pressure on offense and his Goalkeeper Megan Kleve allowed for this. "Our defense was able to step up out of the box and be organized in our pressure defensive system." Do to the fact our Goalie is very mobile.

Harper's Midfielders took exactly what they practiced all week and transitioned that hard work into the game.  The Midfielders did so well on hard to mark balls, up balls and won a majority of 50/50 balls - Lemberg reiterated.  As Harper was winning and taking control of loose balls, the transition to attack was quick and creative. Leading to 21 shots on Goal and 7 shots finding the back of the net.

Lemberg felt, "Overall, we played with more confidence and were so much more organized then our first game. Looking forward to watching this team continue to improve."

The Hawks are back in action tomorrow against Morton College.
