2024 Harper Volleyball Alumni Night

Palatine, IL: In a thrilling match, the 2024 Harper Volleyball team faced off against the Harper Volleyball Alumni team, losing in five sets: 25-22, 12-25, 25-21, 19-25, 17-25 (2-3).

This year's Harper Volleyball Alumni team was outstanding; featuring five NJCAA All-Americans, three players from the 2016 National Championship team including the National Tournament MVP, three Region IV Players of the Year, five All-Conference selections, six All-Region players and five All-Region Tournament players. Additionally, three Harper College assistant coaches joined the action on the floor.

The Alumni team included: Rachel Kandefer (2019), Eden Suh (2022-2023), Taylor Knuth (2023), Emily Huprich (2016-2017), Jeanie Janz (2021-2022), Dr. Veronica Dabrowski (2012-2013), Marielle Lugo (2016-2017), Clara Moravec (2011,2012), Sam Wallenberg (2011-2012), and Sarah Udoni (2016-2017).

A special thanks to the Harper College Men's Basketball team, who came out in full force to support the 2024 Harper team. Coach Lamario and his team's support was greatly appreciated. Coach Bob Vilsoet credits the basketball team's encouragement with helping the 2023 Harper Volleyball team secure victories over the College of DuPage and Owens in the Region and District Championships, respectively, which paved the way to the National Championship in Cedar Rapids.

The stands were packed with friends, family, and siblings of both the current players and alumni, making for an unforgettable night. Coach Bob Vilsoet commented, "This is always my favorite night of the year. It's a pleasure to see our past players in action. They remain exceptional athletes, and playing against them each year benefits our current team and contributes to a stronger season."
