Hawks Dominate with Three Champions at Art Kraft Memorial Tournament

River Grove, IL: The Hawks wrestling team closed out the 2025 calendar year with a strong showing at the 35th Annual Art Kraft Memorial Tournament hosted by Triton College, earning 13 individual placers and finishing the day with three champions. The Hawks demonstrated balance and depth across the lineup, with podium finishes in nearly every weight class.

Leading the charge were Joshua King (285 lbs), Maguire Hoeksema (157 lbs), and Lennon Steinkuehler (141 lbs)—each finishing 4-0 to claim individual titles. King was dominant throughout the day, winning all four of his matches by pin. Hoeksema continued his stellar season with two technical falls, a pin, and a sudden victory, while Steinkuehler powered through his bracket with three technical falls and a major decision.

The Hawks' third-place finishers were Truth Vesey (125 lbs), Tyson Poyer (174 lbs), and Noah Brockie (184 lbs), each putting together strong runs in their respective brackets. Samuel Sikorsky (133 lbs), Michael Galloway (157 lbs), and Michael Merevick (197 lbs) all finished fourth, while Christian Chavez (141 lbs), Aiden Schuldt (174 lbs), and Gage Bambic (184 lbs) placed fifth. Michael Hodge III (149 lbs) rounded out the placers for Harper with a sixth-place finish.

The Hawks' collective effort highlighted their progress and depth heading into the second half of the season. Harper will return to action on January 3 at the Battle for the Helmet, hosted by North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC).
