Hawks Finish 6th Against NCAA DIIIs

Kenosha, WI: The Hawks women's track and field team put together a strong showing at the Tadd Metzger Invitational at Carthage College, finishing 6th out of 13 teams in a competitive field featuring mostly NCAA Division III programs and one NCAA Division II squad. With nine athletes competing, the Hawks saw multiple personal bests, top-10 program performances, and even a national qualifying mark.  

Top Performances:
-
Caitlin Basco placed 5th in the 55m (7.80) and 6th in the 200m (28.33). Her 55m time moves her to 6th on the Hawks' Indoor Top 10 List.

Natalia Pocica had an outstanding meet, taking 3rd in the 200m (27.70) and 3rd in the triple jump. Her 200m time was a huge indoor personal record (PR), placing her 5th on the Hawks' Indoor Top 10 List and meeting the 2025 NJCAA National Qualifying standard. Her triple jump was also an indoor PR, moving her to 2nd on the program's all-time list.

Delaney Gale ran 9.43 in the 55m hurdles for 4th place and took 5th in the 200m (28.33). Her hurdles time ranks 3rd in Hawks' history.

Roza Puchalski secured 3rd in the 3000m, slightly improving her time to 12:01.09.

Lucia Sanchez Scriven delivered a big day, placing 5th in both the long and triple jump, as well as 8th in pole vault. She set PRs in all three events and climbed the Hawks' Indoor Top 10 List in each.  
-4x400m Relay – The team of
Pocica, Gale, Perla Vargas, and Basco ran their season debut in 4:21.69, securing 2nd place.  

Other Notable Performances:  
-
Vargas narrowly missed scoring, finishing 9th in the 55m and 10th in the 200m.  
-
Hannah Schulz set major indoor PRs in both the shot put (31' 7.25") and weight throw (37' 0.5").  
-
Zoe Pavlu competed in the sprints, while Rose Wagner joined Schulz in the throws.  

Athlete of the Meet:
Hannah Schulz – Her significant improvements in both throwing events made her the standout performer for the Hawks.  

Harper will look to build on this performance as they continue their indoor season. The Hawks will compete at North Central on Friday for the Chicagoland Indoor Championships.
