Hawks Finish at Elmhurst Twilight Invitational

Elmhurst, IL: The Hawks continued their strong outdoor season under the lights at the Elmhurst Twilight Invitational, with eight athletes competing across sprints, hurdles, jumps, and throws. With ideal evening conditions, the Hawks took advantage by setting several personal bests and continuing to climb the national rankings.

In the sprints, Zoe Pavlu led off with a new personal best in the 100m, clocking 13.29. She came back strong in the 200m, running 27.91. In the 400m, Natalia Pocica broke the one-minute barrier for the first time, running a personal best 59.77—one of the top times nationally. She was joined by Perla Vargas (65.06) and Ashley Harrison (67.08), who continue to gain consistency in the event.

In the hurdles, Delaney Gale and Lucia Sanchez Scriven took on both the 100m and 400m races. Gale ran 16.77 in the 100m hurdles and followed it up with 70.60 in the 400m hurdles. Sanchez Scriven finished in 17.53 and 74.73, respectively, continuing her work as a multi-event contributor.

In the throws, Hannah Schulz and Rose Wagner were busy across all three events. Schulz threw 29' 10" in the shot put, 108' 11" in the discus, and 96' 3" in the hammer. Wagner added marks of 29' 8", 90' 1", and 123' 3" in the same three events, with her hammer throw continuing to rank near the top nationally.

The Hawks also had success in the field events. Sanchez Scriven pole vaulted 8' 11", just shy of her season best, while Pocica turned in another strong triple jump performance with a mark of 34' 10.25".

With the postseason rapidly approaching, the Hawks are hitting their stride and will look to carry their momentum into nationals.
