Hawks Open 2026 Season at Pat Heenan Invitational

Naperville, IL: The Hawks women's track and field team opened their 2026 indoor season at the Pat Heenan Invitational hosted by North Central College on January 17, starting the year with a small group of three competitors. Despite the small roster, the Hawks made the most of the early-season meet with strong performances and promising results.

Sophomore
Hannah Schulz led the way in the throws, meeting the national qualifying standard in the shot put to secure an early spot in the NJCAA DIII national rankings. She also competed in the weight throw, continuing to build momentum for the season ahead. Fellow sophomore Kasey Ledinsky doubled in the mile and throws, setting a personal record in the mile and breaking the six-minute barrier for the first time in her career. Lucy Reyna also had a strong showing, setting an indoor personal best in the 200m and competing in the pole vault for the first time at the collegiate level.

The Hawks will return to action on January 31 at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track & Field Center at Gately Park, looking to continue building early-season progress.
