Strong Finish for Hawks at Firebird Finale

Kenosha, WI: The Hawks closed out their indoor season with a strong performance at the Firebird Finale at Carthage on Friday, marking the final meet of the 2025 indoor track and field campaign. Lucia Sanchez Scriven was the standout athlete of the meet, continuing her impressive season with notable improvements in the jumps. She soared to a triple jump mark of 34' 4.25", tying for second all-time in Hawks' indoor history. Additionally, she improved her indoor long jump personal best to 16' 5.75", and matched her indoor pole vault indoor personal best with a leap of 8' 10.25".

Several other Hawks also set new indoor personal records. Zoe Pavlu made strides in both the 55m dash and 200m, clocking in at 8.09 and 28.85, respectively. Perla Vargas and Delaney Gale both set new bests in the 400m, running 65.68 and 66.68, placing 8th and 10th all-time indoors for the Hawks, and both qualifying for nationals. Gale also competed in the 55m hurdles, adding another solid performance to her day. Rose Wagner delivered a personal best in shot put, with a put of 28' 10.25", and also competed in the weight throw.

Roza Puchalski and Natalia Pocica rounded out the competition for the Hawks. Puchalski ran 12:06.41 in the 3k, while Pocica triple jumped 34' 4.25", matching Sanchez Scriven's mark.

With the indoor season now behind them, the Hawks will take a three-week break before heading into their outdoor season, which kicks off at North Central on March 28th. The team's determination and strong performances throughout the season set the stage for an exciting outdoor campaign ahead.
