Hawks Keep Momentum Rolling at ONU Tiger Open

Bourbonnais, IL: The Hawks continued their strong outdoor campaign on Saturday at the ONU Tiger Open in Bourbonnais, putting together another impressive day filled with personal bests and national qualifying performances. With standout efforts across sprints, hurdles, jumps, and throws, the team showed their depth and determination once again.

In the sprints,
Perla Vargas, Zoe Pavlu, and Natalia Pocica led the way for the Hawks. Vargas and Pavlu both set personal bests in the 100m, running 13.09 and 13.35, respectively. All three sprinters competed in the 200m as well, with Pocica and Pavlu each notching new personal bests—27.02 for Pocica and 27.63 for Pavlu. Pavlu's time earned her a national qualifying mark in the 200m, meaning all three sprinters have now qualified for nationals in both the 100m and 200m.

In the hurdles,
Delaney Gale and Lucia Sanchez Scriven continued their strong seasons. Sanchez Scriven met the national qualifying standard in the 100m hurdles, securing spots for both Gale and Sanchez Scriven in the national meet for both hurdle events (100m and 400m).

In the jumps,
Sanchez Scriven competed in long jump and triple jump while Pocica also triple jumped, maintaining their positions as key multi-event contributors.

In the throws,
Hannah Schulz and Rose Wagner competed in the hammer, discus, and shot put. Wagner had a standout day, setting personal bests in both the discus and shot put, further solidifying her spot among the nation's top throwers.

With another successful meet behind them, the Hawks continue to build momentum as they head into the heart of their outdoor season, with eyes firmly set on the national stage.
