Hawks Crown Two Champions at Second Annual Stormin’ Norman Memorial Tournament

Palatine, IL: The Hawks wrestling team put together a strong showing at its home event, the second annual Stormin' Norman Memorial Tournament, held on January 24, 2026. The Hawks delivered several standout performances across weight classes, highlighted by two individual champions and three runner-up finishes, underscoring the team's depth and balance midway through the season.

Leading the way were
Truth Vesey (125 lb) and Aiden Cohen (165 lb), both of whom captured titles in dominant fashion. Vesey continued his outstanding campaign at the lower weights, earning another tournament championship with a blend of speed and precision. Cohen, one of Harper's most experienced competitors, powered through a tough 165-pound bracket to claim the top spot, adding to his growing list of accomplishments this season.

The Hawks also placed three wrestlers in the finals.
Michael Galloway (149 lb) and Benny Butler (157 lb) each earned runner-up finishes after solid runs through their respective brackets, while Michael Merevick (197 lb) battled his way to a second-place result to round out Harper's podium leaders.

Overall, the tournament provided another positive test for a Harper squad that continues to build momentum heading into the postseason. The Hawks will return to action next at the Whizzer Open, where they'll look to carry their success forward against another competitive field.
