Hawks Baseball Connects with Youth at All in Athletics Practice

Deerfield, IL: The Hawks baseball program continued its commitment to community engagement with a recent visit to All in Athletics, where several Hawks players took part in a youth practice led by former Harper standout Ryan Tavenner.

Tavenner, an All-Region outfielder during his time with the Hawks and now a coach at All in Athletics, helped organize the visit as a way to bridge the gap between youth development and the collegiate game. The session gave young athletes a firsthand look at how college players approach their preparation, both physically and mentally.

Five current Hawks — Jaxon Cook, Dominic Jacoby, Alex Tabbert, Will Hickey, and Matt Guza — participated in the practice, demonstrating warm-up routines, drills, and training habits that are essential at the collegiate level. The group worked closely with the athletes, offering instruction, encouragement, and insight into what it takes to compete beyond the high school level.

The visit not only provided valuable learning opportunities for the youth players but also reinforced the Hawks' presence within the local baseball community. Through partnerships like this, Harper Baseball continues to invest in the growth of the game while building meaningful connections with the next generation of student-athletes.
