Harper Baseball Leads the Way with Nine NJCAA All-Academic Honorees

Palatine, IL: The Harper baseball team showcased its commitment to academic excellence during the 2025-26 academic year, placing nine student-athletes on the NJCAA All-Academic Teams while 26 Hawks combined to earn Region 4 All-Academic recognition throughout the fall and spring semesters.

The NJCAA All-Academic Teams recognize student-athletes who complete at least 24 credit hours during the academic year while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.60 or higher. First Team honors are awarded to student-athletes with a perfect 4.00 GPA, Second Team recognizes GPAs between 3.80 and 3.99, and Third Team honors are awarded to those with GPAs between 3.60 and 3.79.

Leading the Hawks were five NJCAA All-Academic First Team selections:
Brayden Clancy, David Essien, Brandon Koth, Kenny Nanos, and Cooper Nelson, each earning the distinction with a perfect 4.00 GPA.

Kevin Geake was named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team, while Lewis Barbour, Daniel Gross, and Will Hickey earned NJCAA All-Academic Third Team honors.

Region 4 All-Academic honors are awarded to student-athletes who successfully complete at least 12 credit hours during a semester while maintaining a GPA of 3.00 or higher.

Harper had 18 student-athletes recognized as Fall Region 4 All-Academic selections:
Clancy, Essien, Koth, Nanos, Nelson, Geake, Barbour, Gross, Hickey, Peter Castaneda, Jaxon Cook, Jonah Elvidge, Jeremy Florez, Mitchell Hall, Michael Mango, Gavin O'Neil, Collin Roche, and Logan Sarna.

The Hawks followed that performance with 19 Spring Region 4 All-Academic honorees. Returning selections included
Clancy, Essien, Nanos, Nelson, Barbour, Daniel Gross, Elvidge, Hall, Mango, O'Neil, Roche, and Sarna. They were joined by Gustavo Vivas, Jay Younan, Evan Fahey, Cal Korosa, Aidan Nohava, Zach Zalewski, and Nick Drtina.

The Hawks' impressive academic accomplishments reflect the program's dedication to excellence both on the field and in the classroom, with student-athletes earning recognition at the regional and national levels throughout the 2025-26 academic year.
