PALATINE, Ill. – The Harper College baseball team hosted N4C opponent Rock Valley College on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks could not generate enough offense and also committed 11 errors in the doubleheader, leading to 6-2 and 16-2 losses to the Golden Eagles.

A four-run second inning gave Rock Valley a 4-0 lead, but the Hawks (2-20, 2-14 N4C) got RBI singles from Paul Kramolisch (/Bolingbrook) and Gabe Farrowe (Bloomingdale, Ill. /Lake Park ) in the fourth inning to chip away at the visitors' lead. The Golden Eagles (13-18-1, 6-9-1) got insurance runs in the fifth and seventh and a complete game from Ben Wicklund in a 6-2 victory.

Harper highlights included a 2-for-2 effort from Kramolisch and a 1-for-3 game from outfielder Justin Reaves (Chicago, Ill. /De La Salle). Reaves doubled and scored a run. Starting pitcher Adam Kowalski (Arlington Heights, Ill. /Buffalo Grove) (1-2) allowed just one earned run on four hits in five innings of work.

In game two, Rock Valley pounded 14 hits and picked up a 16-2 victory in five innings over Harper. The Hawks' defense was shaky in the contest, committing seven errors. At the plate, Harper was 7-for-21 as a team (.333 average).

Christian Poulsen (Schaumburg, Ill. /Schaumburg) was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Branden Davis (/Rich East) was 1-for-2. Jeremiah Mack (/Westinghouse) went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and two runs. Harper starter Clint O'Neal (Farmer City, Ill./Blue Ridge) (0-4) lasted 2 2/3 innings and gave up five earned runs on nine hits. Rock Valley starter A.J. Roth yielded two runs and struck out three in the win.

The Hawks will have another chance to pick up conference wins as they travel to Triton College (20-10, 9-2 N4C) on Sunday afternoon for a doubleheader starting at noon.
