Box Score 1 JOLIET, Ill. – The Harper College women's softball team couldn't ignite its offense in cold temperatures on Thursday afternoon at Joliet Junior College. The Hawks lost to the Wolves in five innings, 9-1.
Harper forfeited the second game of the day, and it was scored as a 7-0 forfeit loss.
The Hawks (1-13, 0-9 N4C) did get extra base hits from Danielle Reptowski (Hanover Park, Ill./Schaumburg) and Sandra Portogallo (Elk Grove Village, Ill. /Conant) in game one. Pitcher Isabelle McGuinnis (Arlington Heights, Ill. /Hersey) delivered an RBI single in the fourth inning, and Jordan Dallmann (Roselle, Ill. /Lake Park) scored the team's lone run after reaching base on an error and also singled earlier in the game.
The Wolves (3-21, 3-8 N4C) had a good day at the plate with 12 hits but also capitalized on four critical Harper errors. McGuinnis (1-11) pitched 4 1/3 innings for the Hawks, and Stacey Stanton got the win in the circle for Joliet.
Harper will be back in action at home on Saturday afternoon against Oakton Community College (1-14). First pitch of the doubleheader is set for noon. Check back on the website for possible cancellations due to weather.
