Palatine, Ill- The Harper College women's basketball team extended its win streak to two games on Wednesday night. The Hawks turned a seven point halftime deficit into a seven point victory defeating Wilbur Wright Community College (0-11, 0-1 N4C).
Harper's stout defensive effort in the second half held the Rams to ten points, while the Hawks tallied 24 second half points.
Angelina Villasin (/Prospect) turned strong defense (5 steals) into offense (24 points) for the Hawks as she fearlessly attacked the basket all night long.
Tamara Zivak (/Barrington) and
Isabelle McGuinnis (/Hersey) also had exceptional performances for the Hawks. Zivak had a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds and McGuinnis added four points and six rebounds.
The Hawks will look to win their third straight game when they hit the road for Rock Valley College on Jan.7 in an N4C matchup. The Golden Eagles (11-3, 0-0) are always a formidable conference foe beating the Hawks in both contests last season.
