Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Palatine, IL 5/1/2022:

The Hawks double header vs Illinois Valley Community College was Everything! The previous night left the field under water. Harpers players, coaches and staff spent over 6 hours getting the field close to playable, and Mother Nature gave us 45 degrees with 30 mile an hour winds. 

Game 1:
The Hawks started out strong on the mound and at the plate. Jumping out to a 2-1 lead over the Eagles at the end of the second inning. Our Hawks seemed to run out of gas  shortly after, 6 hours of field prep would do it, and in the 4th and 6th innings the Eagles posted 9 runs. But in the bottom of the 7th the Hawks caught their second wind, posting 9 runs. Julio Cajigas (Romeoville, IL/Romeoville High School) drove in the winning runs with a two out single. 

Game 2:
The wind was still blowing and the cold-got-colder, but the Hawks did not lose momentum. Steve Churak tossed a complete game going 7 innings giving up only 4 hits and 1 earned run on 85 pitches. Michael Budorick (Glenview, IL/Glenbrook South) went 2 for 3 at the plate with a double, rbi, and scored a run. The Hawks played stellar in the field and generated 5 runs off of 6 hits.
